Valentine Printable Stamps

To me it's the small things that are important especially when expressing how much you care about someone.  A girlfriend asked me to create some "stamp-like" embellishments for her to attach to her Valentines this year.  We were both so happy with how they turned out I wanted to make them available to you as well.

You can download them here.

Special Note:  Due to their smaller size if possible try for a good quality colour laser printer to print these up.  I went to our local Printer and he also printed them on sticker paper for me which was perfect for attaching them to my envelopes (alternatively you can use double sided tape).

To be clear....these are not "real" postal stamps.

Hope you enjoy.

Giving Melon Hearts

If you are at all like me you are very conscious about what your kids are eating.  I am fortunate in that I have never had to force feed my sons fruit (other foods i.e. veggies and meats are another matter) but I still like to make sure that I make the experience "fun".  Now "fun" in absolutely no way means playing with their food, although we are experiencing a battle of wills currently, above is an example of how I like to approach things.

These Melon Suckers took 3 minutes to create.  I have a million cookie cutters but for obvious reasons it was the hearts that we chose today.  I personally use sucker sticks but popsicle sticks are just as good and you can work with many fruits to create these suckers.

Valentine Note....strawberries when halved vertically look like hearts.

Have fun.

Valentine Paper Heart Gift Card/Note Holders

I have never liked the little generic pocket envelopes you receive when you purchase a gift card so here is a great alternative for those you love this Valentines.  This paper craft literally takes 5 minutes to create (faster if you are practised) but adds much joy for the recipient.

 Steps to make:
1.  Need a square piece of paper, scissors and double-sided tape.  Red heart above was from a 10" square of paper, the other from a 12"square.  Cut the square along the diagonal and put aside one of the triangles.
2.  With triangle long side towards you fold it in half.
3.  Open fold, take the top point and fold 2/3rds of the way down the crease.
4.  Fold one tail up using the crease as a guide to make it straight.

5.  Fold other tail up and turn over.
6.  Fold the triangular tail ends in half.  Line up everything.
7.  Finished heart with out rounded corners.
8.  Fold in the corners to round out the heart wings.

 9. Tape down bent corners.
10.  View of back of heart with rounded wings.
11.  Tape backside opening down to prevent items from slipping out.
12.  Turn over, embellish and add gift card or message.

Cute and open to a million possibilities.  Perfect combo.
